About Panhandle Tree Care

What this site is

Panhandle Tree Care is an independent referral service. When you call the number on this site or send a quote request, we pass your request to an independent, third-party tree service provider working in the Amarillo area, and they contact you to look at the tree and give you a real number. We don’t charge homeowners anything, and you’re never obligated to hire the provider we match you with.

The other half of the site — the cost pages, the Tree Health Assessment, the storm-damage and diagnostic guides — exists because most people searching for a tree service in Amarillo don’t actually know yet whether they need a removal, a trim, or just a second opinion. We’d rather you arrive at that phone call already knowing roughly what the job should cost and what questions to ask.

What this site is not

• We are not a tree service. No crews, no bucket trucks, no chippers. The people who show up at your house are independent businesses with their own insurance, pricing, and practices.
• We don’t quote jobs. The ranges on this site are researched estimates for the Amarillo market; only an in-person look produces a real quote.
• We don’t verify licenses — because Texas doesn’t require a state license for tree work (see below), there isn’t one to verify. We describe what credentials do exist and how to ask about them.
• We don’t publish reviews, star ratings, or “trusted by” numbers — ours or anyone else’s. If you see a review count on this site, it’s a bug; tell us.

How we source prices and local facts

Every dollar figure on this site traces to a single dated price ledger reviewed on September 8, 2026, and every page shows its own “last reviewed” date. The ledger draws on three kinds of sources, and each page says which it’s using:

• Amarillo-specific published pricing. Local tree companies that publish price tables on their own sites, and cost-aggregator pages that report Amarillo-labeled figures (ArborHub, Homeyou, ProMatcher, Thumbtack). These carry the most weight.
• National benchmarks (HomeGuide and similar), used for context — the national average tree removal is about $850 per tree — never blended into a local figure.
• Primary local sources for non-price facts: the City of Amarillo Building Safety Division for permit questions, the National Weather Service Amarillo office for climate, the Texas statutes for anything legal.

Where a source is an aggregator rather than a local quote, we say so. Where we couldn’t confirm something — for example, whether Amarillo requires a permit for tree removal on private property — we say that too, and tell you who to call, rather than guessing. We re-check prices at least annually and the legal claims every Texas legislative session.

Licensing and insurance in Texas, plainly

Texas has no statewide license requirement for tree removal, trimming, or stump grinding. Voluntary credentials exist — most notably ISA Certified Arborist, a credential from the International Society of Arboriculture that requires experience and an exam — but a company can legally do tree work in Amarillo without one. That means the vetting questions that matter are about insurance and experience, not a license number: ask for a current certificate of general liability insurance and workers’ compensation (or an occupational accident policy), ask how long they’ve worked in the Panhandle, and ask whether anyone on the crew holds an ISA credential if the job involves a valuable tree you want to keep rather than remove.

Panhandle Tree Care is published by a small Nevada-based company that builds and operates local home-services guides in a handful of markets, including several in Texas. We research each market from primary sources, keep the price ledger current, and route quote requests to local providers we’ve spoken with. We don’t take a percentage of your job — providers pay us for referrals, which is how the site stays free for homeowners.
